Panch Kalyanak Pratishtha - Jain festival observance
Panch Kalyanak Pratishtha is the most elaborate Jain temple consecration ceremony. It dramatically re-enacts the five auspicious events (Kalyanak) of a Tirthankara's life: Garbh (conception), Janma (birth), Diksha (renunciation), Kevalgyan (omniscience), and Moksha (liberation). It typically lasts 5-11 days.
It is the most sacred ceremony to establish a new Jain temple. Participating is considered extremely meritorious and a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many.
