Mastakabhishek - Jain festival observance
Mahamastakabhisheka is one of the most spectacular religious events in the world. Held every 12 years at Shravanabelagola (Karnataka), thousands of devotees pour milk, saffron water, sandalwood paste, and precious substances over the 57-foot monolithic statue of Lord Bahubali (Gomateshwara) from specially constructed scaffolding.
It honours Lord Bahubali's supreme renunciation and is considered one of the most meritorious events to witness or participate in.
