Snatra Puja - Jain worship ritual
Snatra Puja recreates the divine event when Lord Indra bathed the newborn Tirthankara on Mount Meru with sacred substances. Devotees dress up as Indra and Indrani and ceremonially bathe a small idol placed on a symbolic Meru mountain. It is one of the most grand rituals in Shwetambar tradition.
It commemorates the birth of a Tirthankara and reminds devotees that even the king of gods bows to the supreme souls. It inspires humility and deep reverence.
